NTPC Farakka organized the closing ceremony of the Girl Empowerment Mission (GEM) on 14th June 2024 at RLI PTS.
The event was graced by the presence of Chief Guest Ms. Ekam J. Singh (IAS), SDO Jangipur; Guests of Honour Shri Ramakanta Panda, HOP Farakka; and Smt. Niva Panda, President of Udita Ladies Club.
Other notable attendees included Shri AK Patra, GM (O&M); Shri Satheesh S, GM (BE & EMG); Shri Debabrata Kar, GM (Maintenance); Shri Shashi Chandra, GM (FM); Shri Alok Kumar Ranbir, HOHR; along with other HODs, senior members of the Udita Ladies Club, union representatives, the Executive Association, and other NTPC employees.
The ceremony commenced with lamp lighting and a rendition of the NTPC Geet by GEM participants. Shri Alok Kumar Ranbir, HOHR (Farakka), delivered the welcome address, followed by a screening of the GEM 2024 video. The event highlighted the remarkable talents of the GEM girls, featuring yoga demonstrations, English, Bengali, and Hindi recitations, and captivating theme, folk, freestyle dance performances and self-defense demonstration emphasized safety and empowerment. The GEM girls also shared their transformative experiences at Farakka, demonstrating their personal growth.
In his address, Shri Ramakanta Panda, HOP (Farakka), emphasized the significance of the 28-day residential GEM workshop as an exemplary CSR initiative by NTPC. A memento was presented to the Chief Guest, Ms. Ekam J. Singh (IAS), SDO Jangipur, who lauded the exceptional performances by the GEM girls and urged parents to continue supporting their daughters' dreams.
